Vee's Notecard Party

Whilst visiting the wonderful folk artist Catherine Holman's blog, I discovered Vee's notecard party.

After visiting some of the participating blogs and viewing their absolutely stunning images, so evocative, so yummy, I wanted to join in all this Christmassy wonderfulness.

My first image is a snowman ornament I've had for a few years.  I know I live in Ozland, but I am Scottish, and you might take the girl out of the snow, but, you can't take the snow out of the girl.

I am a lover of Nativity Scenes.

Christmas ain't Christmas without one.  The reason for the season, and all that.

I have two nativity scenes.  This is my 'old' one.  I've had it for 20 years, and still love to gaze at it.  The beautiful pastel colours, the exquisite faces.

Mary had a little............accident.  She unfortunately lost her hand.

This is a Christmas card my mother gave me many moons ago.  If I particularly like a Christmas card, then I can't part with it, and bring it out and display it year after year.  This is one of them.

This is an image I took of my daughter's eye on New Year's Eve, two years ago.

2013, here's looking at you kid.

Merry, happy, joyous Christmas.

till next time.

  1. Hey Fiona....I have some lovely cards I put out each year too...but this year...so behind due to work commitments...not even the tree & decorations made it out of the attic...so we have a small 18"tree with the collection of angels from around the house...serves the purpose...not having Christmas here, it's at Mum's this year...and K8's away......

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU & YOURS....love Annette. xx

  3. Lovely to have you join us! I like your comment that you can take the girl out of the snow, but not the snow out of the girl. Do you ever get back to Scotland at this time of year?

Your images are wonderful. Love the sentiment about displaying favorite cards year after year. That's a memorable thing to do.

Have a very Merry Christmas down there in Oz!

  4. I love the idea of using old cards as decorations. Your nativity is beautiful and I didn't even noticed the missing hand until you pointed it out. Merry Christmas

  5. How nice that you found Vee's note card party! It's a great place to find inspiration and meet new friends.

The photos you chose are sweet...I am especially fond of the nativity one, although that snowman is sooo cute. (I like the card beside him too.)
